Óscar Faura

Óscar Faura (* 1975 in Barcelona ) is a Spanish cameraman .

Life

Faura studied at the Barcelona Film School (ESCAC). Since 1999 he has been a cameraman for the shootings for commercials and short films. The first engagements as a camera operator and second unit cameraman for feature film productions soon followed .

His breakthrough came in 2007 with Juan Antonio Bayona's feature film debut, The Orphanage , which was hugely successful in both critics and box offices. His performance earned him a nomination for the 2008 European Film Awards in the Best Cinematography category . In 2012 he worked again with Juan Antonio Bayona on the disaster film The Impossible , which dealt with the true story of a Spanish family in the 2004 tsunami and was particularly successful at the Spanish box office. For this work Faura received a nomination at the Goya 2013 in the category Best Camera .

In 2014 Faura filmed the Alan Turing biopic The Imitation Game - A Top Secret Life . He then worked again with JA Bayona on the fantasy film Seven Minutes After Midnight .
