The Spanish Goya Film Prize was awarded for the 27th time in 2013. The award ceremony took place on February 17, 2013 in the auditorium of the Centro de Congresos Príncipe Felipe in Madrid . As in the previous year, the event was moderated by comedian Eva Hache .

The most successful film with ten prizes was the black and white silent film Blancanieves ( German : Snow White) by director Pablo Berger , who had worked on his second feature film for a total of eight years. The film is a tribute to the silent films of the 1920s.

The trophy for Best Film and four other Goyas went to the melodramatic film The Impossible (Lo imposible) by director Juan Antonio Bayona , which tells the true story of a Spanish family who stayed in Khao Lak , Thailand during the 2004 tsunami .

Criticism of austerity policies In his opening speech, the President of the Academy, the Spanish producer and distributor Enrique González Macho, complained about the government's cultural policy interventions, such as the increase in VAT on cinema tickets from eight to 21 percent and insufficient measures against video piracy.

The three-hour gala was riddled with accusations and allusions to the conservative government's austerity policies. Maribel Verdú , winner of the Best Actress category, dedicated her award to “all those people who have lost their homes, their future or their lives through a corrupt and outdated system”.

The winner for Best Supporting Actress in a Friday in Barcelona Candela Peña said: "I had three years of work and had to watch as my father died in a government hospital, there was no ceiling, there was no water that we had Bring everything yourself. "
