Montse Ribé

Montse Ribé (* 1972 in Barcelona ) is a Spanish make- up artist . She won an Oscar in 2007 for her work on Pan's Labyrinth .

Life

Ribé worked as a makeup artist in numerous Spanish and Mexican films. For the films The Devil's Backbone (2002), Spich mit ihr (2003) and Romasanta - In the Shadow of the Werewolf , she was each nominated for the Spanish Goya film award in the category Best Special Effects. In 2006 and 2008 she won this prize for the films Fragile and The Orphanage .

In 2006 she was responsible for the make-up in the film Pan's Labyrinth by director Guillermo del Toro and won an Oscar for her work at the 2007 Academy Awards together with David Martí in the category of best make-up . She was also honored at the Ariel Awards , the most important film prize in Mexico, and once again with the Goya . There were also nominations for the BAFTA Awards and the Saturn Awards .

For the Hollywood film Hellboy - The Golden Army , also by del Toro, from 2008, she won a Chainsaw Award in the category Best Make-Up / Creature FX . In this film, she also starred as the young Hellboy.
