Goya 2010

The Spanish Goya Film Prize was awarded in 2010 in 28 categories as well as an honorary Goya. The award ceremony, moderated by Andreu Buenafuente , took place on February 14, 2010 in the Palacio de Congresos del Campo de las Naciones in Madrid .

The prison film Cell 211 - The Prison Rebellion , which entered the race as a big favorite with 15 nominations, won eight Goyas. Among other things, he was able to prevail against the competition in the important categories of Best Film and Best Director. Juan José Campanella's Argentinian entry In Her Eyes , which was nominated for the Goya in nine categories, was awarded in the category of Best Young Actress ( Soledad Villamil ) and Best Foreign Film in Spanish.

Alejandro Amenábar's historical film Agora - The Pillars of Heaven above Hypatia of Alexandria received eight awards out of 13 nominations. Leading actress Rachel Weisz was defeated by Lola Dueñas in Me too - Who Wants to Be Normal? Like Penélope Cruz in Torn Embraces and Maribel Verdú in Tetro . , a drama film about a man with Down syndrome . Pedro Almodóvar's tragic comedy Broken Hugs was nominated in five categories, but only Alberto Iglesias received an award for his film music.
