action
Ryu is a young woman who works at the fish market in Tokyo at night and also works as a contract killer. An influential CEO gives her the job of murdering a wine merchant whom the client holds responsible for the suicide of his daughter Midori. But at the first meeting between Ryu and David, the wine merchant, a strange connection arises between the two. They meet repeatedly and sleep together. But David decides, because he cannot cope with Midori's suicide either, to leave Japan and return to Spain. He visits Ryu at the fish market. The CEO's closest confidante appears there and shoots Ryu, whose wish for a death at a young age is thus fulfilled.
Reviews
"When it comes to feelings in extreme situations, the Spanish director Isabel Coixet is in top form."
"An impressionistic and atmospheric drama inspired by 'film noir', which plunges into an urban, exotic world of signs, but despite moving moments repeatedly slips into clichés and does not condense into a coherent narrative due to the poorly contoured characters."
