The Prix ​​Vulcain de l'Artiste Technicien is an award given at the Cannes International Film Festival .

Originally called the Grand prix technique , it was awarded from 1951 until, after a two-year break, it was awarded again under its new name in 2001 and 2002.

It is awarded by the Commission Supérieure Technique de l'Image et du Son (CST), which honors outstanding artistic and technical achievements with the prize.

Thus, for example, outfitters, cameramen, lighting technicians, film editors, but also directors or a complete film ensemble can receive the award.
