Car Wash is an American musical comedy released in 1976.

Mr. B is the owner of Dee-Luxe-Carwash , the most famous car wash in Los Angeles . There he has to deal with the most bizarre characters in town. In the daily hustle and bustle, the car washer TC tries to get tickets for the hottest disco in a radio quiz in order to win his great love for himself.

Lexicon of International Films : The plot serves primarily as a series of shallow gags, predominantly at clothing level; Cynical jokes and an annoying musical backdrop stand in the way of trying to convey social problems.
Awards
Car Wash competed for the Palme d'Or in Cannes in 1977 . Director Michael Schultz received the Technical Grand Prize at the festival . Norman Whitfield received the award for Best Music . The former Motown producer and songwriter also received a Golden Globes nomination for Best Original Song . At the 1977 Grammy Awards , he was awarded the trophy for Best Album of Original Score Written for a Motion Picture or Television Special .
The title song Car Wash by Rose Royce , written and produced by Whitfield, became a worldwide hit.
