Marta Etura
Marta Etura Palenzuela (born October 28, 1978 in Donostia-San Sebastián ) is a Spanish actress .
She was discovered at the age of seventeen and then attended the Cristina Rota Acting School. Her first film role was in 2001 under the direction of Joaquín Oristrell in Sin vergüenza . She played in the thriller When the Bell Strikes 13 in 2002 as well as in the drama La Vida de nadie . For her portrayal in the latter film, she was nominated for the most important Spanish film award, the Goya , as “best young actress”.
Etura starred in over ten films from 2001 to 2006 and also appeared on television and in the theater. For her supporting role in Patricia Ferreira's Para que no me olvides she was nominated for the film award of the Spanish scriptwriters association CEC and again for the Goya.
In 2006 she had a leading role in Daniel Sánchez Arévalo's directorial debut Dunkelblaufastschwarz . Etura played a woman under arrest who wants to get pregnant in order to be able to switch to the mother and child ward of her prison. Once again she received nominations for the CEC Film Prize and the Goya. In 2006 she received the Shooting Star Award for the best young European actors, given by European Film Promotion .
In 2010 she won her first Goya (Best Supporting Actress) for her role as the wife of the main character in Cell 211 - The Prison Riot .
In 2018 she was appointed to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences , which awards the Oscars every year.
