Esteban Crespo

Esteban Crespo Garcia (born June 10, 1971 in Madrid ) is a Spanish film director and screenwriter . He made several short films in Spanish. His debut work was the short film Siempre quise trabajar en una fábrica . Aquel no era yo (2012) was nominated for an Oscar for Best Short Film in 2014 .

Life

Esteban Crespo started out as a documentary filmmaker and worked for Spanish television. He worked as a consultant for TVE and analyzed the children's program there . Since 2005 he has made various short films that were also intended for the children's program. He was internationally successful with the short films. Lala was nominated for the Goya Award in 2010 . With Aquél no era yo he won the Goya film award for “Best Fictional Short Film” (Mejor Cortometraje de Ficción). His first feature film - Amar - premiered in 2017.

Crespo is a member of a forum for young directors in Spain and is also one of the managers of all-historias.com.
