Publicly appointed surveyor

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The publicly appointed surveying engineer (ÖbVI, ÖbV) is an organ of the public surveying system or holder of a public office in Germany. On the basis of the land surveying laws and the professional regulations of the federal states , he is authorized to carry out cadastral surveys , to participate in certain tasks of land surveying and to certify with public faith facts that are determined by surveying investigations of the land.

tasks

In addition to official functions, the ÖbVI can also take on private tasks. He is active in the entire area of official cadastral surveying and technical engineering surveying, geographic information and property valuation:

In some federal states (e.g. Lower Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Rhineland-Palatinate, Brandenburg, Saxony), ÖbVI may also provide information (extracts) from the real estate cadastre (real estate map, real estate book).

Training and ordering

The official activity as ÖbVI requires a public appointment by the supervisory authority, which is only carried out if the qualification for higher or higher surveying administration service is available and experience in the execution of cadastral surveys has been acquired over several years.

The career of the ÖbVI includes - apart from the country-specific additional requirements of some federal states - as a rule a study of surveying or geodesy at a scientific university with a diploma as a surveying engineer , which concludes with the diploma main examination (1st state examination); Since the reorganization of the courses, a corresponding master’s degree is required. After two years of legal traineeship at the surveying administration and the major state examination (2nd state examination), after one year of professional activity in cadastral surveying (at an ÖbVI or the cadastral administration), you can apply for an appointment to the ÖbVI.

ÖbVI exists in all federal states except Bavaria . There the sovereign tasks of cadastral surveying are performed by the cadastral offices.

Professional associations for publicly appointed surveyors in Germany are the Federation of Publicly Appointed Surveying Engineers (BDVI e.V) and the Association of German Surveying Engineers (VDV e.V).

Publicly appointed surveyors in other countries

The tasks of a German ÖbVI are carried out in other countries by surveying engineers, whose qualification to exercise official functions is granted by authorities, ministries or special committees.
