The 45th season of the Austrian women's handball championship began on September 12, 2015 and ended with the second final game for the Austrian championship on May 21, 2016. The reigning champion is Hypo Niederösterreich .

On November 3, 2015, WBZ Union Korneuburg won under the former Hypo player Jasna Kolar-Merdan sensationally against the series champion from Südstadt with 26:24. It was Hypo's first defeat in a championship since March 29, 1993, against WAT Fünfhaus.
