The Austrian Club for Wirehaired Hungarian Pointing Dogs (short form: ÖKDUV or MVD) is an association for the promotion of pure and performance breeding , training of the Magyar Vizsla Wirehaired Pointer (also wirehaired Hungarian Pointing Dog) - and its distribution based in Vienna .

history

The first Magyar Vizsla Wirehaired Pointer were introduced to Austria in 1955. The Magyar Vizsla Wirehaired Pointer Club, also known as the Austrian Club for Hungarian Wirehaired Pointing Dogs, was founded in 1962. The association was formed by the Proponent Committee consisting of Baron Albert Stefan von Bornemissza, Julius Hermann and Franz Amon Hechtenberg on April 4, 1962. The first constituent general assembly took place on December 7, 1962. The FCI recognized the Magyar Vizsla as a separate breed on March 23, 1963, where Standard No. 239 was also confirmed.

The aim of the club is the promotion of pure and performance breeding, training of the Magyar Vizsla Wirehaired Pointer and its as far-reaching distribution as possible in hunter and dog lover circles as well as all owners of dogs of this breed in Austria as members. In order to achieve this goal, the club has the following tasks and services for its members and interested parties:
