Martin Rasner (born May 18, 1995 in Oberpullendorf ) is an Austrian football player .
Career
society
Martin Rasner started playing soccer at SK Wiesmath . Before he attended the academy of the SKN St. Pölten , where he went through all teams up to U-18, played a year for the youngsters of the SVSF Pottschach .
After the Academy of St. Pölten, Rasner was signed by FC Liefering . He made his debut for Lieferinger in the first division on August 6, 2013 in a 5-1 home win against SCR Altach . The defensive midfielder scored his first championship goal on March 28, 2014 in a 3-1 away win at Kapfenberger SV .
At the beginning of the 2015/16 season, Rasner moved to SV Grödig . At the Bundesliga club he was able to secure a regular place straight away under coach Peter Schöttel . He played a total of 33 games for the Grödig team, in which he scored 2 goals. A special hit was his first Bundesliga goal to equalize 1-1 in the home game against eventual champions FC Red Bull Salzburg on November 28, 2015.
After SV Grödig withdrew from professional football at the end of the 2015/16 season, Rasner moved to Germany in the summer of 2016 for the second division club 1. FC Heidenheim , with whom he signed a contract that was valid until June 2018.
After only seven games for 1. FC Heidenheim, Rasner returned to Austria in July 2017, where he joined the Bundesliga club SKN St. Pölten . After 63 Bundesliga appearances for the Lower Austrians, he left the club after the 2019/20 season.
National team
Rasner was allowed to wear the team jersey of the U-18 national team for the first time on April 14, 2012 in a friendly international match against Germany's U-17 team . Coach Andreas Heraf sent him on in the 53rd minute instead of Kristian Rafajac. As a result he came to four other missions in Austria's U-18s.
Together with coach Heraf, he was promoted to the Austrian U-19 national team from 2013 , for which he played a total of 13 games. Including the three qualifying games and the four games in the final round of the U-19 European Football Championship 2014 in Hungary , where Austria won group A and was only eliminated in the semi-finals against Germany .
It was therefore not surprising that Heraf also appointed Rasner to the Austrian U-20 national team in 2015 . For this he played six games, including the four games at the finals of the U-20 World Cup in 2015 in New Zealand . In the preliminary round Austria reached second place behind Ghana with Rasner and advanced to the round of 16, where they lost against Uzbekistan .
In September 2015, Rasner was taken over by coach Werner Gregoritsch in the Austrian U-21 national team , for which he has so far played two friendly matches and four games in qualifying for the 2017 U-21 European Championship .
