Øivind Bolstad

Øivind Bolstad (born February 1, 1905 in Vardø ; † May 7, 1979 ) was a Norwegian writer . He also wrote drama and radio plays as well as poetry , but was mainly known for his novels. Bolstad also published under the pseudonyms Theo Eikan and Martin Eden .

Life

Bolstad was the son of a lawyer. He grew up in Bergen , where he attended business school, and then worked as an office worker and writer. He first published short stories and radio plays, then in 1938 the play Patrioten , which, however, was not premiered until 1946. Some of his later works have also been translated into German , including the novel Der Profiteur , in which Bolstad deals with business cooperation with the Nazis , and the satirical novel Das Testament des alten Winckel . Bolstad published among other things with the publishing house Ny dag of the Norwegian Communist Party .

In 1973 Bolstad was awarded the Dobloug Prize.
