The Øyeren is the ninth largest inland lake in Norway . It is located in the municipalities of Indre Østfold , Lillestrøm , Rælingen and Enebakk in Viken . The Glomma is the inflow and outflow . Together with the rivers Leira and Nitelva , the Glomma forms the largest inland delta at the northern end of the lake; Parts of this wetland were declared a nature reserve (1975: Nordre Øyeren Naturreservat and 1992 Sørumsneset Naturreservat ).

fauna

24 different fish species have been registered in Øyeren, making Øyeren the lake with the most species in Norway. Before the Glomma was dammed , eels and salmon were also found in Øyeren. These have now disappeared there.
