Øystein Sevåg
Øystein Sevåg (born March 19, 1957 in Bærum ) is a Norwegian new age musician.
Sevåg had piano lessons from the age of five. As a teenager he played bass in a rock band, but then studied classical piano, flute and composition at the Oslo Conservatory. In the 1980s he discovered the possibilities of electroacoustic music and in 1989, after five years of studio work, released the album Close Your Eyes and See , which immediately hit the Billboard charts for new age music.
After further albums, Sevåg worked from 1999 to 2005 with his wife Maria Sevåg and the psychologist Katharina Martin in the field of music therapy. In 2006 he returned to Oslo, where the solo album Based on a True Story was released the following year . As a producer, he released the debut albums of the singer-songwriters Eliksir ( Earthly Thing , 2005) and Benedicte Torget ( After a Day of Rain , 2008).
