The vehicles of the CSD series 464.2 were vierfachgekuppelte passenger train - tank locomotives of Czechoslovak State Railways (CSD).

history

The 464.2 were the last steam locomotives developed for the ČSD. The two prototypes were manufactured by Škoda in Pilsen in 1956 . Due to the beginning of the traction changeover, there was no longer any series production. The two locomotives with the factory numbers 3377 and 3378 were in 1956 at the price of 1,020,500 Kčs over each of the CSD.

The 464,201 was based in Praha- Smíchov , the 464,202 came to Jihlava . Later the two locomotives from Brno were used in front of passenger trains. In the early 1970s they came to the Olomouc depot, where they were used on the steep slopes of the Jeseníky Mountains . In particular, they were also responsible for the transport of express trains across the Silesian Semmering with slopes of 32 per thousand.

The 464.202, which was taken out of service on April 13, 1974, was sold to the National Technical Museum in Prague on May 3, 1974 . It was initially placed in the Olomouc depot as a rollable exhibit. It has been operational again since 1993.

The 464,201 was retired from the Olomouc depot on November 20, 1975. After being used as a K 653 heating locomotive, it was scrapped in 1978.

The locomotives were nicknamed the tree frog (Rosnička) because of their green paint .
