The pistol vz. 36 , civil name ČZ 36 , is a Czechoslovak pocket self-loading pistol .
history
The Czech arms factory Česká zbrojovka produced various pocket pistols in the caliber 6.35 × 15.5 HR until 1938 . The end of this series of developments was the ČZ 36 developed by František Myška in 1934. In 1945, after the end of the Second World War, Jan Kratochvíl made technical improvements to the ČZ 36. The resulting weapon was called the ČZ 45 and was manufactured from 1945 to 1951. After production in Strakonice came to an end, 205,000 ČZ 45s were still manufactured by F. Dušek in Opočno until 1959. After that, the weapon was manufactured in Uherský Brod . It was used and exported by the police and military of the Czechoslovak Republic and its successor states. In the military of various Warsaw contracting states it was used as a personal weapon for senior officers.
technology
The pistol is a recoil loader with an unlocked ground lock . The ČZ 36 is a trigger , the internal cock cannot be drawn manually. The closing spring lies under the barrel. When the weapon is fully loaded, a cartridge is inserted into the chamber, but the mainspring is not cocked. For this reason, most copies have not been secured. Only a small number were produced with an additional trigger guard.
The sight consists of a longitudinal groove milled into the slide. Nevertheless, it is possible to hit a target with a diameter of 100 mm from a distance of 25 m.
variants
The ČZ 45 has the same dimensions and structure as the ČZ 36. As with this one, there were production series with additional trigger safety, while the main part of the weapons did not have this. A special feature of the ČZ 45 is the magazine safety that acts on the trigger fork, which blocks the hammer and prevents a shot from being released when the magazine is fully loaded.
Since 1992 a version that has been modified in detail as ČZ 92 has been produced. The magazine lock has been moved from the magazine floor behind the trigger and can now be operated with the thumb. In addition, more modern plastic grips are installed.
