Česko Slovenská SuperStar

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Česko Slovenská SuperStar (German: Czech-Slovak superstar , often incorrectly Czech-Slovak superstar ) is a version of the show Pop Idol . It is broadcast simultaneously in the Czech Republic and Slovakia . The series is sponsored by TV Nova in the Czech Republic and by TV Markíza in Slovakia .

The program has been in its sixth season since February 2020, but the live shows had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the associated restrictions. The jury includes (from left to right) the veteran of the show, the singer and producer Pavol Habera, the singer and ex-participant Monika Bagárová, the musician and entertainer Marián Čekovský, the actress Patricie Pagáčová and the presenter and comedian Leoš Mareš.

Originally there were three separate national rounds in the respective republics, whereby the broadcast was always followed by the other nation with a lot of interest, in 2009 the shows were combined for commercial reasons and for the sake of attractiveness.

The rules of the competition were similar to those of the national auditions “The Czech Republic is looking for the superstar” and “Slovakia is looking for the superstar”. The preliminary rounds started on September 6, 2009 and the overall winner was determined in the final on December 20, 2009 by SMS voting by Czech and Slovak viewers.

Moderators and jury

The show is led by two moderators, Adela Banášová from Slovakia and her Czech colleague Leoš Mareš , the jury also comes from both nations, where Ondřej Hejma and Marta Jandová represent the Czech side and Dara Rolins with Pavol Habera the Slovak one.
