Ōkuma ( Japanese オ ー ク マ 株式会社 Ōkuma kabushiki-gaisha ) is a Japanese machine tool manufacturer that manufactures milling and turning centers, grinding machines and machines for laser deposition welding and laser hardening .

In 1898, Eiichi Ōkuma founded the Ōkuma Noodle Machine Company in Nagoya . The purpose of the company was to manufacture and sell pasta making machines. The first machine tools were manufactured from 1904. In 1937 Ōkuma was according to its own information the largest machine tool manufacturer in Japan in terms of sales. The company's headquarters were relocated from Nagoya to Ōguchi in 1980. The European headquarters Ōkumas is located in Krefeld . On September 1, 2019, Ōkuma took over the long-standing German sales partner Hommel CNC-Technik and renamed it Okuma Deutschland GmbH. Okuma Deutschland GmbH, as a 100% subsidiary of Okuma Europe GmbH, takes over the Germany-wide sales and service of Ōkuma products. The main headquarters of Okuma Deutschland GmbH is located in Cologne , further branches in Possendorf (Dresden) and in Langenau near Ulm.
