Šilai is a village of 347 inhabitants in the Jonava district , 2 km from the Jonava - Ukmergė highway . It is the center of the Šilai administrative district . There is a library, a post office (LT-55090) and the “Šilelis” school kindergarten.

history

The Šilai Manor is mentioned in the 17th century . After Juozapas Kosakovskis, Marijona Kosakovskienė moved from the manor to Jonava in order to found a town here. In 1993, the pork company UAB "Beržų kompleksas" was founded, arising from the Soviet-Lithuanian cattle breeding company. It will Landrace bred.
