The administrative district Šilai ( lit.Silų seniūnija ) is an administrative district with 1818 (2011) inhabitants in the Rajongemeinde Jonava , northeast of Jonava in the Kaunas district in Lithuania . The center is the village of Šilai . The district includes 53 villages, 48 ​​of which are populated. There are five hill forts , two post offices, two libraries, school Kindergarten "Silelis" the Petras-Vaičiūnas - secondary school in the town Panoteriai , the Catholic Church Panoteriai , two museums, an outpatient clinic, two medical points, two Banjas , three resorts that Taurosta -Bridge . Nine closed joint-stock companies (UAB) and four agricultural companies are registered in the district. The largest company is UAB " Beržų kompleksas ", founded in 1993 (it emerged from the Soviet-Lithuanian cattle breeding company Beržų tarpūkinė gyvulininkystės įmonė , founded in 1976). In 1998 it achieved a turnover of 27 million litas (7.8 million euros) and has 200 employees (2009).
