Əlövsət Baxşıyev

Əlövsət Qəzənfər oğlu Baxşıyev (German: Alövset Bachschijew, born June 22, 1956 in the Şərur Rayon ) has been Prime Minister of the Autonomous Republic of Nakhchivan since 2000 .

He is ethnically Azerbaijani. After finishing secondary school, he graduated from the Finance and Credit Faculty of the Azerbaijani Institute of Economics from 1973 to 1977. 1977–1979 he did his military service in the Soviet Army .

1979–1986 he was the director of a sovkhoz in the Şərur Rayon and a financial economist in the district's agri-industrial contracting department.

He was a member of the CPSU until 1991 , after which he joined the New Azerbaijan party . In 1990 and 1995 he was elected as a member of parliament. 1994–1998 he was Minister of Finance, 1998–2000 Minister for Economic Development and Finance. In 2000 he was appointed Prime Minister by the President of the Parliament Vasif Talibov and confirmed by Ali Məclisi , Nakhchivan's parliament.

On June 27, 2013, President Ilham Aliyev and four other civil servants awarded him the Order for "Merit to the Fatherland" 3rd class.
