Luis Abilio Sebastiani Aguirre SM (born February 22, 1935 in Callao ; † August 10, 2020 in Lima ) was a Peruvian religious and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Ayacucho o Huamanga .

Life

Luis Abilio Sebastiani Aguirre joined the religious order of the Marist Fathers and was ordained a priest on April 23, 1962 . He was pastor of Sullana in the Chira valley in the coastal plain of northwestern Peru , vicar in Bellavista and religious teacher at the "Colegio Carlos Augusto Salaverry".

John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Tarma on November 21, 1992 . The apostolic nuncio in Peru, Luigi Dossena , donated him episcopal ordination on January 3 of the next year ; Co- consecrators were Miguel Irízar Campos CP , Coadjutor Bishop of Callao , and Lorenzo León Alvarado OdeM , Bishop of Huacho . His episcopal election motto was "Sub Mariae Nomine".

On June 13, 2001, he was named Archbishop of Ayacucho o Huamanga by Pope John Paul II. On August 6, 2011, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related retirement.
