(20512) Rothenberg is an asteroid of the main asteroid belt that was discovered on September 10, 1999 by the German amateur astronomer André Knöfel at the Drebach observatory.
The celestial body was named in March 2001 after Eckehard Rothenberg (* 1938), the former technical director of the Archenhold observatory in Berlin-Treptow. The provisional designation was 1999 RW32. Rothenberg was the long-time leader of the Youth Urania working group, which taught children and young people the basics of astronomy.
