The 1st Siberian Army Corps was a large unit of the Imperial Russian Army . It was established in May 1900 and disbanded in 1918.

history

In May 1900, the 1st Siberian Army Corps was set up in the Amur Military District under the command of Lieutenant General Nikolai Linewitsch .

During the Russo-Japanese War it took part in the battles of Te-li-ssu , Tashihchiao , Liaoyang , Sandepu and Mukden , making it one of the most widely used large Russian units during the war. The army corps was part of the Russian armed forces that were supposed to re-establish the connection with the besieged Port Arthur . The attempt at relief failed, however, because the army corps was exposed to repeated attacks by the Japanese 2nd Army , which pushed the Russians further and further towards Mukden along the Port Arthur-Mukden railway line.

The Army Corps took part in World War I and was disbanded in 1918.
