Overcoming the wall - 7th World Cup in Cottbus 2011

After the Second World War, the Soviet Union looked for a way to keep the comrades in the fire brigade fit. They designed several disciplines that could also be compared with one another on a competition basis. In addition to the scaling ladder, this also included a 100-meter obstacle course . However, this differed from the current form. For example, a 3.5 meter high escalation wall was set up at the 15 meter mark, which had to be overcome with the folding ladder . The initial times were around 50 seconds.

In 1959 the competition rules were changed. After that, the railway was similar to today's structure. The times improved to about 30 seconds.

Women competed in this discipline for the first time at the German fire fighting championship in Augsburg in 2000 . In the following year women started in a "demonstration competition" at the XII. International Fire Brigade Competition of the CTIF 2001 in Kuopio , Finland . At the 13th Fire Brigade Olympiad of the CTIF in 2005 in Varazdin , Croatia , women competed equally in all three disciplines. FinlandFinland CroatiaCroatia

Five meters behind are two rolled C-hoses that have to be picked up. The run-up board for the walking beam is located at the 38-meter mark. This bar is 120 centimeters high, 18 centimeters wide and eight meters long and has to be overcome. At 75 meters there is a distributor to which one of the two C-hoses is to be connected.
