112: Fire Brigade in Action is a German documentary series that was first broadcast on December 17, 2017 on DMAX .
Content and description
In the documentary series, real professional firefighters are accompanied in their everyday life and their operations. Some forces wear a body cam in order to give the most authentic impression possible. The event is commented on by both the off- narrator Stephan Benson and the emergency services involved. The concept of the series is similar to the WDR production Feuer und Flamme , in which firefighters also wore body cameras.
In the first two seasons, the Delmenhorst , Dortmund and Krefeld fire departments were accompanied. The third season accompanies the fire services in Flensburg , Gießen , Hagen , Kaiserslautern and Saarbrücken .
Broadcasting and audience ratings
The pilot episode aired on Sunday, December 17, 2017. After that, the first season was broadcast every Tuesday in the evening program of DMAX from January 30, 2018. The first season achieved an audience rate of 2.9% in the target group of 14 to 49 year olds. The second season was broadcast on Tuesdays in the evening program from October 23, 2018 and achieved a market share of 3.1% in the target group of 14 to 49 year olds.
Filming for the third season began in January 2019. This was broadcast from September 17, 2019. In January 2020, filming began for the fourth season, including at the Flensburg professional fire department.
