125 Greenwich Street (also known as 22 Thames Street ) is a skyscraper under construction in New York City .

description

125 Greenwich St. is designed exclusively as a residential tower. It was originally planned in September 2014 that the tower should be 413 meters high. In 2017, the planning resulted in a height of 278 meters, 88 floors and 273 residential units.

The skyscraper is in the immediate vicinity of the already completed W New York Downtown Hotel & Residences (also known as 123 Washington Street ) and is only one block away from the new WTC . Directly opposite was the Deutsche Bank Building , which was demolished in early 2011 and is to be replaced by Five World Trade Center .

Rafael Viñoly was chosen as the architect , who among other things designed the currently tallest residential tower in the world, 432 Park Avenue . Alongside Bizzi & Partners, the developer of 125 Greenwich Street was Michael Shvo until he was charged with tax evasion (September 2016). Official construction of the tower began at the end of June 2015, when rebars were first placed in the foundation. The interior work was carried out by March & White, whose experience in setting up superyachts was incorporated into the choice of materials and design. The first tenants should be able to move in in September 2019. The smallest studio measures almost 39 m² and costs $ 1.2 million (as of the end of 2017).
