1 Park Lane (also known at 36 Central Park South ) is a planned super- skyscraper in New York City that was first unveiled to the public in late 2013. The construction was approved.

description

1 Park Lane is a development project of the Witkoff Group , which owns several high-rise buildings in New York. The plan is to replace the old Park Lane Hotel near Central Park with a pure residential tower, with the hotel's characteristic facade being retained on the lower levels.

At the end of May 2015 it was announced that a super skyscraper would be built at 36 Central Park South from 2016. According to current plans, the new tower will be over 369 meters high and have around 80 floors. This would make 1 Park Lane one of the tallest residential towers in New York and the USA. The building is in close proximity to 57th Street, which is currently experiencing a real boom in super skyscrapers. Among other things, are also attended by Billionaire Row street called future monoliths like the One57 (306 yards, completed), 217 West 57th Street (472 meters, under construction), 432 Park Avenue (426 meters, completed), 111 West 57th Street ( 436 meters, under construction) or 220 Central Park South (290 meters, final height reached).

Handel Architects' office was chosen as the architect , which among other things designed Trump Soho in the SoHo district . A total of 88 residential units are to be built. In addition, the following equipment features are planned for the building:

  • a library freely accessible to all residents
  • a large children's playroom
  • a 30 meter long swimming pool
  • a wellness facility
  • a private restaurant
  • a private car driveway
  • each apartment should have its own terrace

Before the construction of the tower can begin, a large part of the old hotel has to be demolished. According to current plans, this is foreseen for the beginning of 2016. Completion is not expected before 2020.
