2B16 , also called Nona-K , is a Soviet artillery cannon that was developed in the special design office of the Motovilichinskije zavody in the city of Perm .
history
As a 2B16 rifled artillery cannon, it was designed taking into account the combat operations of the Soviet army's land forces in the war in Afghanistan . In 1986 the cannon was put into service by the army.
description
The 2B16 cannon counts as the rifled version of the 2A51 cannon, which was mounted on the 2S9 self-propelled gun, but retains all of its properties. It is used in the artillery divisions of the airborne troops .
gun
By using ballistic schemes, the gun achieves the properties of a cannon , a howitzer, and a mortar . The barrel has a length of 2,900 mm with a caliber of 24.2. There is a muzzle brake on the barrel , the effectiveness of which is around 30%. There are hydraulic and hydropneumatic pipe returns above the barrel .
Upper frame
The mechanism for horizontal and vertical target acquisition is located on the upper frame. An armor plate was installed to protect the soldiers from shrapnel and machine gun projectiles.
Lower frame and mount
The lower frame consists of the two-spar mount . The upper frame with the cannon was mounted on the lower frame. The transition of the cannon into the ready-to-use position takes place through an automatic spreading of the spars. The bars can be brought into the transport position using a winch.
ammunition
Like the 2A51, the 2B16 cannon can fire a wide range of 120 mm caliber ammunition. This includes all types of mortar shells , fragmentation and so-called " High Explosive Anti Tank " projectiles. For example, the use of the “3ВО32” “High Explosive Anti Tank” bullets with cluster munitions , weighing 23.3 kg, a range between 0.2 and 8 km, an impact area of 2,800 m² and penetrating armor of 100 mm . Combined projectiles with active and reactive components with cluster munitions, such as the "3ВОФ55-1" projectile, with a weight of 19.8 kg, a range between 0.7 and 12.8 km, has an impact area of 3,400 to 5,100 m², in who can also concentrate on tank technology. The "3ВБК14" projectile, consisting of a mixture of shaped charge and cluster munitions, weighing 13.1 kg, has a range of 0.04 to 1 km, can penetrate armor of 600 mm.
