2PM is a South Korean boy band founded in 2008 by the JYP Entertainment label .
history
In early 2008, Mnet brought the guys from “One Day” to the screen for the first time on the reality show “Hot Blood”. 13 JYP trainees, including the future members of 2PM and 2AM , were sent to training. On March 14th the broadcast ended and the members of the new groups 2PM and 2AM were announced. Six months later, 2PM made their official debut with 10 Points Out Of 10 .
On April 16, 2009 they returned with their second mini album Time For Change . Her official fan club, "Hottest", was founded and her single Again & Again won several awards. On June 11th, 2009 I hate you continued with performances . In July, the promotions of their album Time For Change ended and 2PM returned with the show "Wild Bunny" on TV. The show ended earlier than expected when the Jay controversy began on September 4th and 2PM suspended its activities for the time being.
They returned in November with Heartbeat , the title track from their album 1:59 , without Park Jaebeom. The album and single topped the sales charts and 2PM was named Best Male Group and Artist of the Year three weeks after their comeback.
"Heartbeat" won several awards and at the end of the year 2PM's single Again & Again was voted song of the year. At the same time, the group began their promotion of Tired Of Waiting . On January 17th, 2PM took their leave of the stage at the Inkigayo music show and returned to their various other entertainment jobs.
Their new album Don't Stop Can't Stop was released in April , from which they promoted Without You with a video and performances until mid-June. Then the group went to the USA with the Wonder Girls to appear as the opening act until they gave their first mini tour in August.
Shortly afterwards, 2PM became the new faces of the “Infinitly Yours Seoul” campaign and promoted this year's “World Design Capital” with the song Fly To Seoul .
Their latest album, Still 2:00 PM , was released on October 11, 2010 . The album reached number one and the first single I'll Be Back number four in the South Korean charts. On November 1, 2010, the mini-album unexpectedly reached # 13 on the Billboard World Album Charts .
On March 6, 2011, it was announced that 2PM would release their Japanese debut single "Take Off" on May 18, 2011. The single has already topped various Japanese single charts through pre-orders. The single placed fourth in the Oricon charts, the official Japanese single charts.
After a month of their Japanese debut, 2PM's record company JYP Entertainment released the tracklist for the band's second studio album, entitled "Hands Up," which was released on June 20th.
On November 2nd, 2PM's third single will be released for the Japanese market. The first Japanese studio album "Republic of 2PM" follows on November 30th.
