2 Fabiola

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

2 Fabiola is a Belgian dance act consisting of producer Patrick Claesen (alias Pat Krimson ), Viola Furleo and Loredana Deamicis . It originated in the early 1990s.

history

In 1989 Claesen began his musical career as the guitarist of the Flemish band Leopold 3 (the name was based on the former Belgian King Leopold III ). In 1991 he published the song The Milky Way under the name 2 Fabiola together with Oliver Adams (participant in various other dance projects, including Praga Khan ) . When naming, they were inspired by that of Leopold 3 and named the dance act after the Belgian Queen Fabiola de Mora y Aragón . In 1995 the singer Zohra Aït-Fath joined Claesen and Adams. The second single (and also the first with Aït-Fath) Play This Song was able to place in the Spanish and Italian single charts, the third single Lift U Up in the early summer of 1996 even at number 1 in the Flemish single charts. Other top 3 hits like I'm On Fire and Freak Out followed . A first studio album was also released, titled Tyfoon , which was just as successful in Belgium as the previously released singles.

In 1997, pre-singles such as Magic Flight and Flashback for the next album Androgyne appeared , which was released in 1998, but despite the high positions of the first two singles, it was significantly more unsuccessful than its predecessor. In 1999 Zohra Aït-Fath left the formation and began a career as a solo artist and DJ . Patrick Claesen then worked for some time with the later singer from Lasgo , Evi Goffin (alias Medusa ), until Claesen moved to Ibiza in 2000 with his wife Ann Vervoort (the former singer from Milk Inc. ) to open their own discotheque .

In 2007 Claesen released a collaboration with Australian singer Katie Michaelson , the double-A single Straight 2 The Top / Play This Song 2 , but with only moderate success.

Since 2008 2 Fabiola has had permanent singers again with Viola Furleo and Loredana Deamicis. In June of this year their first single, Blow Me Away / We Love The 90's , was released in Belgium .
