The three-story row of buildings stands on Hamilton Drive off the Great Western Road ( A82 ) northwest of Glasgow city center. At the rear, row 1–16 Buckingham Terrace extends . The Scottish architect Alexander Thomson provided the design in the classical Greek Revival style . The row of buildings was built between 1863 and 1865. At the end of the 20th century, it was the subject of three specialist publications. The Northpark House was previously located on the site , which is why the address designation 1-9 Northpark is common.

The row of buildings consists of mirror-symmetrically arranged, uniform houses whose north-facing front facades are each three axes wide. The masonry of polished ashlar is rusticated in the area of ​​the ground floor . The entrance areas of neighboring houses on the outer axes are grouped. They are designed with pilasters that support an entablature with a frieze , antefixes and acroteria . Simple window cornices and a frieze structure the facade horizontally. The crowning cornices of the windows on the first floor are made with palmettes . Pilasters flank the windows on the second floor. The facade closes with a simple cornice .
