353rd Infantry Division (Wehrmacht)

The 353rd Infantry Division was a German infantry division during World War II . The division was set up on November 5, 1943 in Brittany in occupied France . The unit was largely decimated in the Falaise basin , so that it had to be rebuilt to a considerable extent in the Trier area in November 1944. In April 1945, the unit returned US Army in the Ruhr pocket .
