361st Infantry Division (Wehrmacht)

The 361st Infantry Division was a German infantry division during World War II . The division was set up on November 26, 1943 in occupied Denmark . The unit was relocated to the Eastern Front in the spring of 1944 and was completely wiped out in July 1944 in the Brody pocket in western Ukraine during the course of the Soviet Lviv-Sandomierz operation .

On August 23, 1944, the division was re-established as the 361st People's Grenadier Division.
