577th People's Grenadier Division

The 577th Volksgrenadier Division was a major combat unit of the German Wehrmacht during World War II .

Mission history

The division was set up on August 25, 1944 in the 32nd wave of formation near Aarhus in Denmark . Still in the formation phase, the division was renamed on September 17, 1944 into the not yet established 47th People's Grenadier Division .
