The 708th Volksgrenadier Division was a major combat unit of the German Wehrmacht during World War II .

Mission history

The division emerged on September 4, 1944 from the 573rd Volksgrenadier Division , which was currently being established . Her first combat mission took place on November 5, 1944 in the space Piestany (Slovakia) as part of the 19th Army in Army Group G . On February 3, 1945, the division was broken up during the fighting over the so-called Alsace bridgehead on the western front and then disbanded.

  • Staff Pioneer Battalion 708 in the staff of the Pioneer Battalion 719 719th Infantry Division
