40 Cancri is a star about 630  light years away and is in the open star cluster Messier 44 . He's one of the blue stragglers .

40 Cancri appears to be a slowly rotating star that does not have a strong magnetic field . It is believed that it was not created by mass transfer , but by the collision of a double star about 5 to 350 million years ago.
