5N Plus Inc. is a publicly traded company in Québec . It produces high-purity bismuth , cadmium , gallium , germanium , indium , selenium and tellurium compounds . 5N Plus supplies cadmium telluride to First Solar , the largest manufacturer of CdTe thin-film solar cells .

history
5N Plus was founded on June 1, 2000 through a management buy-out by Jacques L'Écuyer and other former Noranda managers . The name of the company comes from the purity of the products, which is 99.999% (5 nines, 5N) or more.
In 2011 the Belgian bismuth manufacturer MCP was taken over.
In 2013, a gallium chemical plant was built in South Korea.
