content

In 5 Days a Stranger the player controls the burglar trilby. This encounters a demonic force, which manifests itself as a masked murderer in the tradition of Jason Voorhees or Michael Myers . He is stuck with a group of strangers in an abandoned villa, in which one person after the next gives their life (cf. And then there was no more ). The successor 7 Days a Skeptic (German: 7 days a skeptic ) is about the events on board a spaceship. The crew finds a coffin with artifacts from the first game wandering around in space - after stowing the coffin in the hangar, the demonic force awakens again. Trilby's Notes is set in a hotel that exists both in the real world and in an alternative, bizarre horror dimension. The main character of the first part wants to look for clues to resolve the events in 5 Days a Stranger . While the other titles in the series are played in the classic "point & click" style with the mouse, Trilby's Notes requires input commands with the keyboard in the style of old text adventures. 6 Days a Sacrifice takes place between 5 Days Stranger and 7 Days a Skeptic and rounds off the series.

popularity

The games found their way onto various supplementary data carriers of video game magazines and were dubbed an “excellent series” by the US edition of PC Gamer . 5 Days a Stranger is mentioned in the book Gaming Hacks as an example of a good adventure game studio game. The game received five awards at the annual awards of the official Adventure Game Studio website, its successor 7 Days a Skeptic three.

The author also published special editions of his games, which included extras such as outtakes and comments by the author. These versions were originally available on the author's website for a donation of five US dollars each, but are now also available there for free download. A remake of 5 Days a Stranger for the Source Engine was in the works, but has since been discontinued.
