7Letras is a Brazilian book publisher that was founded in Rio de Janeiro in 1990 and specializes in poetry .

history

7Letras started its activities in a small bookstore in the neighborhood Jardim Botânico in Rio de Janeiro . As a pioneer of the print-on-demand system, he published several short volumes of poetry in the mid-1990s and, with the recognition of readers and critics, expanded his catalog to include scientific publications in various areas - in particular philosophy , history and social sciences - and with the creation of literary ones Magazines Inimigo Rumor (devoted to poetry) and Ficções (magazine of prose) which helped unveil several important names in contemporary Brazilian literature.

Later, after a few hundred titles, a few thousand readers and several literary awards (including the Prêmio Jabuti ), 7Letras opened a new bookstore in 2012, this time in Ipanema - and continued with its important work of revealing new authors, always looking for creative solutions to the Brazilian and international literary arts.

He has published works by Veronica Stigger , Carola Saavedra and Luiz Ruffato , among others .

In 2012, as part of the Berlin Poetry Festival, 7Letras published an anthology of Brazilian and German poets who translated each other.

It also operates as Editora 7Letras, the company is pronounced as Sete Letras .
