95.5 Charivari is a private radio broadcaster based in Munich . The studios are located on the top floor of the Pressehaus in Bayerstraße, which is near Munich Central Station. The target group stated is 25 to 45 year olds.

It has its own editorial team that only takes care of social networks such as Facebook , Twitter and Instagram . In addition, 95.5 Charivari is the first radio station in Germany that has been available via WhatsApp since October 2014 via the conventional fixed-line studio hotline . On the first morning after its introduction alone, the station received over 4,000 WhatsApp messages.
history
It started broadcasting on April 1, 1986. Neue Welle Bayern was incorporated into the station, which until then could be heard on 89.0 MHz at times. The first track was How Will I Know by Whitney Houston . The station started as Radio Charivari . This term is still incorrectly used by some people in Munich today. In the beginning you had to share the frequency with other providers. After minor renaming such as Charivari-Radio or Charivari 95.5 , the station has been called 95.5 Charivari since August 2004 . A little later, Munich's Hitradio was added to the name . The last relaunch was in January 2012 with completely new shows and a radical change in music. Only a few current music tracks were played before, now these make up a large part of the music rotation.

The radio can be received terrestrially in the greater Munich area via the Olympiaturm transmitter on the VHF frequency 95.5 MHz and DAB + channel 11C. In addition, the distribution takes place via the digital cable network and a web stream “95.5 Charivari” and seven other music streams: Family, work hit mix, party hit mix, lounge, live hits, Italo hits and the X-Mas channel.

The shareholders are Neue Welle - Antenne München Rundfunk-Programmträger-Gesellschaft mbH and Münchner Zeitungs-Verlag GmbH & Co. each with 50%.
