Valoy Eaton
Armon Valoy Eaton (also spelled VaLoy Eaton ; born March 29, 1938 in Vernal , Utah ) is an American landscape painter .
Act
Valoy Eaton was born the son of a garage owner. In 1956 he married his wife Ellie (1937-2014). The marriage had five children. The basketball players Lexi Eaton and Preston Eaton are his granddaughters.
He played from 1957 to 1960 active basketball at the BYU Cougars and was in the 1960s, art and physical education teacher at a high school in Salt Lake Valley .
Eaton began painting and won the "Best of Show" award at the Utah State Fair. After that, the demand for his paintings began. After completing his master's degree in painting from Brigham Young University in 1971, he gave up teaching and devoted himself entirely to painting. He has presented his pictures in exhibitions and galleries across the United States.

Awards
Eatons has received several awards, including the 2002 Utah Governor's Mansion Artist Award. The National Academy of Western Art , of which he was also chairman, made him a lifetime member. In 1988 Norman H. Bangerter appointed him to the Utah Arts Council during his tenure as governor of the state of Utah .
