The A189 is a trunk road of regional importance in the Primorye region in the Far East of Russia . It runs from the A370 Ussuri (formerly M60) near Vladivostok in a south-westerly direction along the coast to Chassan at the border triangle between Russia, People's Republic of China and North Korea . It is 221 km long and part of the AH6 in the Asian trunk road network . Although this route continues along the coast of the Sea of Japan in North Korea , there is no road border crossing behind Chassan, only rail trains can cross the border here.
