The A37, which branches off the A35 road to the northwest just west of Dorchester , leads via Yeovil , where it crosses the A30 road , to Ilchester . There it meets the A303 road , which bypasses the place on a bypass, and follows its route for a short distance. The rest of the route follows the route of the Fosse Way to Shepton Mallet , where the A361 road crosses, and, crossing the A39 road , northwards via Pensford to Bristol , where it ends on the A4 road .
