The A720 road ( English for road A770 ), also known as the City of Edinburgh Bypass or Edinburgh City Bypass , is a multi-lane and partially free-of-intersection road that is designated as a Special Road, which surrounds the capital of Scotland to the south and is similar to a motorway, but not classified as a motorway. which opened between 1980 and 1989. Bypassing the center of Edinburgh, it connects the A1 road in its section east of the city with the M8 motorway and the A8 road , both of which lead out of Edinburgh to the west. At the same time, it provides connections to the A68 road , the A7 road (via a roundabout), the A701 road , the A70 road and the A71 road . The street also forms a section of Europastrasse 15 .
