The NBC Defense School - Lise Meitner (ABCAbwS) of the Austrian Armed Forces is responsible for the training of all officers and non-commissioned officers in the NBC defense.

The armed forces have been using the M2000 NBC protective mask since 2013 , which is a joint product of the two companies Auer and Dräger and has also been used by the German armed forces since 2005 .

history

Since 2002 the school has been housed in the Dabs barracks in Korneuburg . Before that she was housed in the Wilhelmskaserne , one of the two Prater barracks in Vienna .

In 2007 Lise Meitner became the namesake of the NBC defense school.

On October 4, 2010, Defense Minister Norbert Darabos handed over command from Brigadier Norbert Fürstenhofer to Colonel Michael Schuster.

In April 2018, the handover of command from Colonel Schuster to Colonel of the General Staff Service, Jürgen Schlechter.
