The Associação Brasileira de Preservação Ferroviária (ABPF) (Brazilian Society for Railway Maintenance) is an association in Campinas that was founded in 1977 by the French Patrick Henri Ferdinand Dollinger . It brings together those who are interested in preserving and promoting Brazilian railway history.

Dollinger was interested in locomotives and railways and came to Brazil in 1966. Worried about rail closures in Brazil, he decided to set up a maintenance company similar to those in Europe and the United States.

In 1979 the ABPF received approval from the government of the state of São Paulo to operate a 44 kilometer long disused line of the Fepasa Railway in the city of Campinas . The company began with the restoration of the stations and tracks. Soon she was collecting rail vehicles all over the country on loan from the government. This resulted in the Viação Ferrea Campinas Jaguariuna ( Museum Railway Campinas-Jaguariúna ).

ABPF is divided into several local divisions called Regionals :

ABPF is the largest steam railway operator of museum railways in Brazil.
