The AC Germania St. Ilgen is a pure weightlifting club from Leimen , Baden-Württemberg .

history

AC Germania St. Ilgen was founded in 1896. In 1933 the club was forcibly dissolved and in 1945 re-founded as a sports community, which was dissolved again in 1952 in order to re-establish the club under the old name. Currently (as of October 7, 2014) the association has 172 members. The club carries out its home fights in the Aegidiushalle in the Leimen district of Sankt Ilgen.

Weightlifting

Currently (as of October 7, 2014) the 1st team of the AC in the 1st Bundesliga group A and the 2nd team in the Landesliga Nord.

successes

In 1992 and 1998, AC St. Ilgen became German team champions of the weightlifting Bundesliga. A total of four times, in 1988, 1995, 1997 and 1999, the title of runner-up was won and twice, in 1987 and 2009, the team won bronze.

Furthermore, the AC St. Ilgen provided various German champions.
